Joined the RSB in April 1993 and plays the Alto saxophone as a hobby. Now retired, he was formally a teacher and Head of Music in a local secondary School. Prior to teaching enjoyed a career as an Oboe player in HM Forces(Army). Served with the Band of the King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry and attended Knellar hall, the Royal Military School of Music. Later became 1st Oboe with the Band of the Coldstream Guards. After further study at the London College of Music undertook freelance playing which included work in the London Theatres and various Orchestra’s.
