Musicians Synopsis

 

  Stephen Misson – Trumpet

Born in Littleport, Cambridgeshire in 1944, Stephen’s musical career started when he joined the local British Legion Band at the tender age of 10. After leaving grammar school at 16 he joined the Royal Marines as a solo cornet player for a formal musical education. He retired with the rank of Warrant Officer Bandmaster some 25 years later in 1984. Since then he has been very much involved with Cinque Port Music originally publishing works for military and brass band but now works from home on a semi-retired basis selling Royal Marines recordings world-wide through the Internet. Together with his wife Pamela they also promote various concerts in East Kent with the Royal Marines and organise the annual charity concerts with the All Stars Band, a 130 strong band of ex Royal Marines musicians and the very popular 45 strong Old Comrades Band in Deal. An Associate of the Royal College of Music, Stephen still plays regularly with The Folkestone and Hythe Symphony Orchestra, St. Edmunds Community Wind Band, the Kent Concert Orchestra, the Marlowe Concert Band and The Railway Swing Big Band as well as several smaller ensembles. Stephen is an Associate of the Royal College of Music.
